Keyphone — Modular Hardware Mobile Device

Product Design

Keyphone brings a fresh approach to mobile hardware by putting modularity and physical interaction at the core of its design. Built as a multi piece device, Keyphone allows users to replace and upgrade key hardware components including the keyboard module and rear camera module without swapping the entire phone. This design philosophy supports customization, repairability, and long term usability for users who value tactile communication and adaptable hardware.

Hardware Architecture:
The phone is engineered around detachable functional modules, making core parts user replaceable and upgrade friendly:

Keyboard Modules: Swap between T9 numeric keys or full QWERTY keyboard attachments, letting users tailor their typing experience to preference or use case.

Camera Module: The rear camera unit is fully detachable, designed to be replaced for upgrades, repairs, or specialized camera variants in the future.

Battery Module: A removable battery system allows fast replacement, extending device lifespan and simplifying maintenance.

Built for Hardware Flexibility: Every module is engineered to be tool-less, accessible, and swappable, encouraging reuse of the main body while evolving functionality through component upgrades.

Use Cases:
Ideal for hardware minimalists, communication first users, and anyone who wants a phone that can change its interface and imaging system based on need, not trend.

Keyphone blends classic physical input with future-ready modular engineering, delivering a smarter, sustainable way to interact with phone hardware.
